We believe the skills to effectively locate, ethically use, and critically evaluate information are as important as factual knowledge and should be taught to all CVU students. We want all students to value and enjoy reading, literature, and free speech as a cornerstone of a democratic society.

The CVU Book Blog

  • the first one!
For everyone who reads this, this blog is about books; books turning into movies, book series, and books in general as well as their authors.

The first books I would like to talk about is the Hunger Games, we all know its being turned into a movie but will it be a good movie? Jury is still out on that decision, but who knows it might be. The whole series is a very well written series but i have to say the first book was the best. The last book just seemed too morbid and gloomy, even for the topic of the books. for people who haven't read the books, The Hunger Games is a trilogy about a girl named Katniss who is thrown into a game where 24 kids from 12 different districts have a fight to the death. The reason everyone i have asked thinks the first book is the best is because of the character development and the depiction of the journey Katniss has to go through: From the choosing of the tributes(people in the games), to being in the games, to the connection to Peeta who is the other tribute from district 12. All these things make the book one of the best books i have read in a long time.

Comment please! I would love to hear your thoughts.
